About Camp Spirit
Camp Spirit held its first camp in conjunction with the Anthony Q. Newman Football Camp in the summer of 2000. It is a fun camp that teaches the basics of cheerleading and dance to aspiring youth. And like the football camp, Camp Spirit is a FREE activity offered at no cost to participants.

The Director
Teri Newman was born and raised in Southern California. She began dancing in in high school and joined the varsity song squad. Teri attended Cypress Junior College, where she cheered for two years on the yell/song/stunt squad. She went on to Chapman University on a dance scholarship, and cheered one year on the cheer/dance squad.
Teri then became a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams, where she danced for five years. This brought opportunities to perform overseas in London, Japan and Berlin.
Teri's credits include several theatrical productions, a few small movie and television projects, and the title of Miss Petite California (1988). She has taught at several cheerleading clinics, and instructed at the Lake Oswego Academy of Dance.

| What to Wear/Bring | Campers may wear any kind of activewear, shorts, sweats, cheerleading or dance apparel. Footwear should be gym shoes with good support. No jewelry or chewing gum. Campers should bring a water bottle with their name written on it, and a small lunch on Saturday and Sunday. |
